Agrani’s approach to livelihoods generation is through enterprise development and skilling.
After the Uttarakhand floods in 2013 Agrani worked with a number of entrepreneurs based in Guptkashi area and helped them start their enterprises. In continuation of the same Agrani has partnered with Himjoli and Metores Trust to create a enterprise development program in Uttarakhand. The program is called Udyam and it aims to provide returnable grants to entrepreneurs to start their enterprises. The entrepreneurs are also supported through training and mentoring. Our theory of change is that entrepreneurs will be able to create jobs through their enterprises. They will also inspire others to start something of their own.
Agrani has also partnered with L&T Infotech to provide training to local youth in partnership with B2R, a rural BPO. The youth that are trained through L&T Infotech support are placed with B2R.
